Major Features

Lithium release of ALTO project delivers:

• A northbound implementation providing RFC 7285 format map services.
• A simple implementation of endpoint cost map service.
• Automatic network map/cost map generation based on l2switch network state.
• Supports for management of network map, cost map and endpoint property map.

Target Environment

For Execution

• Require Java 7 compliant runtime environment.
• Follow the OpenDaylight Lithium installation and user guide documentation to install OpenDaylight Lithium with ALTO features.

For Development

• Require Java 7 compliant runtime environment, Maven version 3.1.1 or above.
• Follow the OpenDaylight Lithium installation and user guide documentation to install OpenDaylight Lithium with ALTO features.

Known Issues and Limitations

• The implementation of filtered network/cost map services is not complete.
• There is no AAA protection of ALTO information. Hence, all ALTO services will be public.
• A common, automatic network map generation algorithm design is desired.
